Is renting cheaper than buying outright?
- The simple and honest answer is no! We always recommend you buy outright if you can. If you can't afford to, however, renting through us is a convenient and easy way to own a new computer.
I receive Newstart or Youth Allowance, do I qualify?
- Unfortunately those receiving Newstart or Youth Allowance are ineligible for our service at this stage. The reason for this is that these benefits not permanent, and therefore we are unable to set-up long term deductions from them. We are actively working to offer a similar rent-to-own process for Newstart, Youth Allowance and Austudy recipients in the future.
How long will it take for me to receive my computer?
- For your convenience, your computer will be posted within five days of receiving your order, provided we have received your completed paperwork and confirmed your Centrelink payments have been set up correctly. Once it has been posted, it should take no longer than 14 working days to arrive at your door.
Will my computer come ready to use?
- Yes, all of our computers come with Windows 7 which is installed and ready to use.
Is my computer new or refurbished?
- All of our computer packages are 100% brand new. They come sealed by the manufacturer with all relevant documentation.
Do you require my bank account information?
- Bank account information is required as part of the Computers For All application process, even if you are making repayments directly through Centrepay. This information is kept as a backup in case your Centrelink benefit is cancelled or suspended, and payments are no longer taking place. Banking information is used for no purpose other than continuing your scheduled deduction, and we'll contact you first too!
What brands are the computers you currently offer?
- All of our brand new computers are generally HP/Compaq branded. However, very occasionally the brand and model can change. This is determined by stock availability, and delivery times. We want to get your new computer out to you as fast as possible, and sometimes that means changing supplier. You can always give us a call to find out exactly what's on offer.
Do the computers come with Keyboards, Mice and Power Leads?
- All desktop packages come with keyboards and mice, as well as all leads you need to get the computer going. All laptops have keyboards and track-pads built in, they don't require external devices to function. They also include a power adapter and battery.
Are all of the add-on accessories brand new?
- Yes, all Printers, Webcams, Speakers, Keyboards/Mice and USB Drives are brand new and come with a 12 month manufacturer's warranty.
How long is my warranty valid for?
- Your warranty is valid for 12 months and is effective from the day you receive your computer. It covers you for the entirety of the 12-month rental period, entitling you to unlimited hardware support for that period.
What does my warranty cover?
- All devices include their original manufacturer's warranty, which generally covers all hardware issues which are not the result of wilful or accidental damage by the user. Have a read through the warranty information contained within your brand new computer's box. Software issues, such as computer viruses, are not covered and are up to the user to resolve. We will, however, distribute Windows installation discs if you would like to reinstall their operating system.
I have a virus, what can I do?
- Viruses are not covered under your warranty with us, however as a courtesy to our customers we will assist with the removal of viruses on one occasion during your 12 month. After this occurrence, it will be necessary to contact your local computer shop, or perhaps a tech-savvy family member or friend.
How long does it take before I own my computer?
- We have a rent-to-own policy meaning that after the twelve months of payments are completed, you own the computer without any extra payments. Unlike our rental competitors, we do not have a buyout fee at the end, making Computers For All a more affordable option. Additionally, if you find that you need more than one computer, you do have the opportunity to place multiple orders with us.

Are there any hidden costs or conditions I should know about?
- Unlike our rental competitors, we do not have any hidden costs or conditions. We choose not to charge you a cancellation fee if your circumstances change and you can no longer make payments for your computer. Alternatively, we simply stop all Centrelink Deductions and pick up your computer free of charge. We aim to be an affordable option for those that are denied rental plans due to poor credit ratings.
Does my computer play DVDs?
- All of our computers include the ability to play DVD videos. Additional codecs may be required on some machines, but most fully include the required playback software. Give us a call if you have any issues!
Can I burn CD’s and DVD’s?
- DVD and CD burners are standard on all Brand New computers. They are available upon request for refurbished model, we always do our best to get them in there!
How long should my laptop's battery last?
- You should expect at least an hour's constant usage out of your laptop's battery. All batteries are supported under manufacturers warranty.
Can the memory be upgraded?
- All packages come with the amount of memory outlined in their description. We do not do memory upgrades, this means you will have to contact your local computer store to organise any upgrades you may require. Alternatively you can order the Ultimate Gamer package, which is $30 a week. It has a Dual Core Processor, a 4GB of RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, and a 512MB Dedicated Graphics Card. It also includes a 22" HD Screen. Ask our staff about it!

The brands and models of our computers do occasionally change, please don't hesitate to give us a call to find out exactly what's on offer.
Can I pick up my computer rather than have it posted?
- Unfortunately at this stage it is not possible to pick up your computer from our location in Bayswater, Victoria. Computer stock is no longer kept onsite.
Can you remotely login to my computer to provide assistance?
